“The people here truly care about you. It’s a very supportive environment.”
— Jim, Bowman Resident
At Bowman Place, the first word residents and families use to describe us is “home.” That’s not an accident. It’s everything we work toward, every day.
Nestled on 16 beautifully landscaped acres in the historic heart of Bedford, Bowman is a nonprofit assisted living and memory care community. As a nonprofit, every dollar is reinvested back into our community — into our people, our programs and the experiences that make life here full and meaningful. We are not corporate run. Our Board of Trustees is made up entirely of local community members who are personally invested in what happens here.
The staff here are the heart of Bowman, and for most, this is far more than a job. They know residents by name, remember the little things and show up in the good times and the hard ones. We provide nursing care entirely through our own in-house staff. We don’t rely on outside agencies. That consistency builds the trust and familiarity that makes Bowman feel like family.
Residents at Bowman are active participants in their own community. A Resident Council, along with Food and Activities Committees, gives residents a real voice in shaping life here. From what’s on the menu to what’s on the calendar, this is their home, and the decisions reflect that.
Our restaurant-quality dining program features anytime dining, making mealtimes as flexible as your lifestyle. A care coordinator serves as a central point of contact for appointments, transportation and medical records. A licensed social worker leads a weekly support group for residents navigating life’s transitions. And a nurse is on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Community is at the heart of everything we do. Four afternoons each week, residents come together for Happy Hour—a wonderful opportunity to relax, socialize, and enjoy time with friends and neighbors.
Each year, we proudly honor the veterans in our community with a meaningful memorial service, recognizing their service and sacrifice. Our dedicated Veterans Wall and gallery of photographs serve as a lasting tribute to those who have served.
When family comes to visit for a meal or a milestone, our team will treat them like their own. Centrally located near shopping, dining and healthcare in Greater Manchester, Bowman makes it easy for residents to stay connected to the community while feeling completely at home in the one they’ve found here.
